ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 717 AND <br />ORDINANCE NO. 816, REGULATING THE USE OF SEWERS <br />AND DRAINS, PRIVATE SEWAGE DISPOSAL, THE <br />INSTALLATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDING SEWERS, <br />AND DISCHARGE OF WATERS AND WASTE INTO THE <br />PUBLIC SEWER SYSTEMS,AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR <br />VIOLATION THEREOF IN THE CITY OF BATESVILLE, <br />COUNTY OF INDEPENDENCE, AND STATE OF ARKANSAS. <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Batesville, <br />Arkansas, to comply with the laws of the United States of <br />America, and of the State of Arkansas, and regulations promulgate <br />thereunder for the control of pollution in streams and rivers, <br />for the safety and welfare of the public; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of <br />the City of Batesville, Arkansas, in regular session assembled, <br />as follows: <br />SECTION I: Batesville City Ordinance No. 717 (December, <br />1965) shall be modified as follows: <br />Article V, Section 4(i) of the aforesaid ordinance is <br />hereby amended by substitution of the following provisions for <br />the entirety of the aforementioned provisions as originally <br />ordained in the aforesaid ordinance, to -wit: <br />4(i) MATERIALS, <br />1. Which cause or exert unusual concentrations <br />of inert suspended solids (including, but <br />not limited to, Fullers earth, lime slurries, <br />and lime residues) or of dissolved solids <br />(including, but not limited to, sodium <br />chloride and sodium sulfate). <br />2. Which cause or exert excessive discoloration <br />(including, but not limited to, dye waste <br />and vegetable tanning solutions). <br />I! <br />ti 3. Which contain in excess of 270 miligrams <br />ii <br />f' <br />i. per liter of suspended solids or in excess <br />of 30 miligrams per liter of sulfates. <br />
