11'W SAi,E OF :..PPLI ;LACES <br />SECTION 16. <br />.1 <br />(1) All new gas appliances hereafter sold gfferod for sale, <br />or installed within the corporate limits of <br />shall be of a design and construction approved .s o safety, cf icien- <br />cy, and durability and shall bear information showing the rated heat <br />input in B.T.U. per hour and equipped by the manufacturer for use <br />with natural. gas. <br />(2) All used gas appliances hereafter sold or offered for <br />sale or installed shall be approved by the Inspector for safety and <br />efficiency, and shall be identified accordingly. In the event the <br />appliance has been used with Butane or other liquid petroleum gases <br />it shall bo approved by Inspector as having been properly converted <br />for use with natural gas. <br />CONVERSIONS FROM BUTId-TE OR OTHER L.P. G,.SES TO N,:TUR.°.L GAS <br />SECTION 17. <br />Conversion of Cu: tourers t Yard Line, House Piping and Appliances from <br />Butane or Other Liquified Petroleum Gases to Natural Gas. <br />Before a natural gas supply is furnished by the gas company <br />to a customer who has been previously using Butane, Propane or other <br />liquified petroleum gases, customer shell secure a permit from the <br />City and an inspection shall be made of the yard line, house piping <br />and appliances by the Inspector, and the follol__v_in� specifications <br />shall be met before a Certificate is issued by the Inspector to con- <br />nect natural gas to the premised: <br />(1) ; yard service line of not less than 111 in size shall <br />be installed in accordance with this ordinance and the gas companyts <br />construction standards. <br />(2) Si.les of house piping shall be altered if need be, so <br />that 11" or larger size pipe shall extend direct from outlet connec- <br />tion of gas company's meter to the first active gas opening. All <br />house piping to additional openings shall be as set out in Section 14 <br />hereof: Construction standards shall be those set out in Section 13 <br />hereof. <br />(3) Before a gas supply is furnished by the supplier, the <br />orifices and/or burners of all liquified petroleum gas appliances <br />shall be changed or altered to the sizes and met-lods-of use recommend- <br />ed by the manufacturer of the appli^nce. Vcnt pipes, heater connec- <br />tions or any other appurtenances to CCs appliances in use prior to <br />conversion from liquid gaU to natural gas shall be altered or replaced <br />in a manner that will conform to the specifications and construction <br />standards of this ordinance. <br />APPLI °.LICE I_A1STj',.LL.;TI0NS <br />SECTION 18. <br />(1) Appliances shall be adequately supported, and so con- <br />nected to the piping as not to exert undue strain on the connection. <br />(2) �Ilppliancos shall be installed so that their continued <br />operation will not create a fire hazard to persons or property. <br />(3) No appliance shall be installed where facilities for <br />ventilation do not permlit the proper combusion of the gas (See <br />Section 20 - Ventilations). <br />(4) Semi-rigid gas tubing may be used to connect appliances, <br />provided it is of adequate capacity cnd approved.. <br />(5) The use of rubber hose is prohibited except when used <br />with laboratory or shop equipment of a portable nature. Such connec- <br />tions shall have the cut-off valve installod at the pipe outlet. <br />M <br />
