Councilmember Bryant moved to adopt the resolution and <br /> Councilmember Krug seconded. The electronic roll call count was 7 for and 0 <br /> against. The resolution was given #2019-07-07-R. <br /> B) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT PARTICIPATION IN THE 2020 <br /> CENSUS <br /> Councilmember Matthews introduced a resolution in support of the ideals and <br /> goals of the 2020 Census. Councilmember Matthews moved to read the <br /> resolution by title only. Councilmember Bryant seconded and the electronic roll <br /> call count was 7 for and 0 against. Mr. Meitzen read the resolution by title only. <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh reiterated the importance of a good count for the City, which is <br /> how a lot of the funds the City receives are determined. The Mayor thanked the <br /> City Clerk Denise Johnston and Deputy Clerk Donna Smith for taking the <br /> initiative to set up a booth at the Independence County Fair to educate the public <br /> on the upcoming census. Educating the public on the importance of the census <br /> is the key to getting a good count. Councilmember Bryant moved to adopt the <br /> resolution and Councilmember Fredricks seconded.
