Councilmember Bryant moved to go into executive session to consider an <br /> appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Councilmember Hubbard <br /> seconded and all voted for. <br /> Upon returning from executive session, Councilmember Fredricks moved to re- <br /> appoint Mr. Matt Martin to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Councilmember <br /> Bryant seconded and all voted for. Mr. Martin's term will expire June 10, 2025. <br /> MAYOR COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh informed the council that the Fire Chief and Assistant Chief <br /> returned from Alabama with the fire truck they approved at the last meeting. The truck <br /> originally listed for $225,000.00. The council approved up to $190,000.00, however, <br /> they ended up purchasing the truck for $162,000.00. Chief Gleghorn was at the <br /> meeting with the truck and invited the council to look at it after the meeting. <br /> The Mayor said he would like, in the near future, to again look at possibly getting <br /> solar power for the city. <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh talked briefly about the COVID-19 pandemic and said the <br /> community looks at its leaders in times like these. He encouraged everyone to wear <br /> their masks when appropriate, wash their hands and practice social distancing. <br /> LIAISON REPORT <br /> None <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Hinkle said she had a citizen call and said she was interested in <br /> placing a sign on the Polk Bayou Bridge, welcoming people to West Side. The Mayor <br /> said he was excited that people were interested in showing off their community. Ms. <br />
