<br />MAYOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said the next meeting will fall on the special election on <br />th <br />August 8. After a discussion, Councilmember Hinkle moved to only have one meeting <br />th <br />in August on the 15. Councilmember Krug seconded and all voted for. <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh asked City Engineer Damon Johnson to address the council <br />to explain the 2 issues in the upcoming special election. Mr. Johnson said the citizens <br />of Batesville are being asked to extend the current 1¢ Wastewater Treatment Plant tax <br />for the construction of a new Water Treatment Plant and to refinance the current 1/2¢ <br />Parks and Recreation tax to enhance our Parks system. Mr. Johnson gave the <br />background on the current taxes and information on the proposed projects. <br /> The council was given a pay request for a pool filtration pump replacement. The <br />total cost is $12,420.40 and will be paid out of the Community Center Perpetual <br />Maintenance Fund. Councilmember Fredricks moved to pay the requested expenditure. <br />Councilmember Bennett seconded. All voted for. <br />LIAISON REPORTS <br /> None <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Bennett commented that the splash pad in West Batesville is <br />always in use. She said she passes by the park several times a day and it is always full <br />of children. <br /> Councilmember Hinkle praised the Street Department for the repairs made on <br />th <br />20 Street. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />
