The ordinance was given #2021-01-01. <br />B) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING ON CERTAIN ITEMS FOR 2021 <br />Councilmember Matthews introduced an ordinance to waive the requirements of <br />competitive bidding during 2021 on certain items. Councilmember Matthews moved to <br />read the ordinance by title only. Councilmember Poole seconded and the roll call <br />count was 8 for and 0 against. Mr. Meitzen read the ordinance by title only. <br />Councilmember Matthews moved to further suspend the rules and waive the second <br />and third readings. CRYSTAL JOHNSON WITH A COMPREHENSIVE A & P REPORT AND <br />DISCUSS THE FERRIS WHEEL IMPACT AT WHITE RIVER WONDERLAND <br />Ms. Crystal Johnson, CEO of the Batesville Chamber of Commerce, along with Jamie <br />Rayford and Shelly Hendrix addressed the council with a year-end report for the <br />Advertising and Promotion Commission and the Ferris Wheel at the White River <br />Winter Wonderland. Statistics were given regarding the number of people reached <br />through social media and the costs related to the Farris Wheel. The Chamber sold <br />4,934 tickets for the Farris Wheel and the feedback was excellent. Everyone agreed <br />the Farris Wheel was a hit and we hope to have it back next year and for a longer stay. <br /> <br />
