The city has to pay to dispose of these <br />items and the cost is increasing every year. Mr. Johnson said he has visited with <br />the Mayor about possibly purchasing roll-off containers for projects with a large <br />amount of waste. With a roll-off, the citizen/contractor would pay a tipping fee for <br />the contents in the roll-off. The Mayor asked Mr. Johnson to check with other <br />communities to see how they dispose of construction waste. <br />C) MAIN STREET BATESVILLE UPDATE AND INTRODUCTION OF NEW <br />DIRECTOR <br />Mr. Bob Carius, President of Main Street Batesville Board of Directors, <br />addressed the council and introduced Ms. Maggie Tipton Smart as the new Main <br />Street Director. Ms. Smart said she was excited to get to work in her new <br />position. She said she has been visiting all the businesses on Main Street and <br />looking forward to meeting with the Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Smart said she <br />is excited about the future and has plans to bring the businesses and the <br />Chamber together for a common goal to promote the City of Batesville. <br />D) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE FOR THE APPROVAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR <br />PRIVATE CLUBE PERMIT FOR SMILEY’S HOUSE <br />Councilmember Bryant introduced an ordinance for the approval of an application <br />for a private club permit. Mrs. Trisha Cargill-Zelasko, owner of the property and <br />Mr. Chris Kent, owner of Smiley’s House, addressed the council asking for the <br />adoption of the proposed ordinance.
