Mr. Carius said several new businesses <br /> have recently been added on Main Street and he also informed the council on recent <br /> and upcoming activities for downtown. <br /> B) FIRE CHIEF BRENT GLEGHORN WITH A REQUEST TO PURCHASE A NEW FIRE <br /> TRUCK AND REPLACE TURNOUT GEAR <br /> Assistant Fire Chief Ronnie Painter addressed the council. Chief Gleghorn was ill. <br /> Mayor Elumbaugh said he and the Chief and Asst. Chief had visited at length about <br /> the fire departments fleet of trucks. Mr. Painter said they would like to replace the <br /> 1992 GMC Fire Truck and the 2003 Service Truck with a new 2016 pumper/ladder <br /> truck. He said the truck would cost approximately $500,000 and would be paid for by <br /> the county fire tax. Mr. Painter asked for approval for out of state travel to go to South <br /> Dakota to the Rosenbauer plant for help in designing the body of the truck. The travel <br /> expenses will be reimbursed by Rosenbauer. Councilmember Shetron asked the <br /> Asst. Chief to make sure the bid specs are not specific to one manufacturer. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the out of state travel. Councilmember <br /> Matthews seconded and all voted for. <br /> Asst. Chief Painter also asked for council approval to replace outdated turnouts. He <br /> said the turnouts are 10 to 15 years old and no longer meet specifications. The 32 <br /> turnouts will be paid for out of Act 833 monies. Councilmember Beller moved to allow <br /> the fire department to go out for bids for 32 turnouts. Councilmember Bryant <br /> seconded and all voted for. <br /> C) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO REVISE THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />
