MINUTES OF COUNCIL <br /> MAY 24, 2016 <br /> The Batesville City Council met in regular session on May 24, at 5:30 P.M. in the <br /> Municipal Building. Mayor Rick Elumbaugh called the meeting to order. Utility Billing <br /> Supervisor Nick Baxter gave the invocation. Upon roll call, the following <br /> councilmembers answered present; Chris Beller, Tommy Bryant, Sonya Crafton, <br /> Margarett Henley, Paige Hubbard, Doug Matthews, Chris Poole and David Shetron. <br /> Also present were the City Attorney Tim Meitzen and Administrative Assistant Jennifer <br /> Corter. City Clerk Denise Johnston was absent. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the minutes from the previous <br /> meeting. Councilmember Shetron seconded and all voted for. <br /> Councilmember Bryant moved to approve the amended agenda and <br /> Councilmember Henley seconded. All voted for. <br /> CITIZENS COMMENTS <br /> None <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> None <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> A) CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING THE SALE OF FIREWORKS WITHIN <br /> THE CITY LIMITS OF BATESVILLE, AR. <br /> Councilmember Bryant introduced an ordinance that will allow the sale of and <br /> public display of fireworks within the city limits through a permit process. Fire Chief <br /> Brent Gleghorn noted that permit applications can be picked up at the Fire <br /> Department. Councilmember Bryant moved to suspend the rules and read the <br />
