The resolution was given <br /> #2010-8-2-R. <br /> C) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS <br /> AND TOURISM FOR A 50/50 MATCHING GRANT <br /> Councilmember McDonald introduced a resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit an <br /> application for a 50/50 matching grant to the Department of Parks and Tourism. Mr. <br /> Stalker read the resolution in full. The Mayor said the grant is to add playground <br /> equipment to the park in West Batesville that was started by Habitat for Humanity. <br /> Councilmember Insell moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember McDonald <br /> seconded. The roll call count was 8 for and 0 against. The resolution was given #2010- <br /> 8-3-R. <br /> D) ENGINEER'S REPORT <br /> City Engineer Damon Johnson addressed the council with his engineer's report. Mr. <br /> Johnson said the tunnel project was preceding about 5 to 6 feet per day and lacks about <br /> 150 for completion. The smoke testing is continuing and he is hopeful that the dry <br /> weather conditions will continue so the testing can be completed. He said he and the <br /> water treatment supervisor are working on a 5 to 10 year plan for the treatment plant in <br /> order to stay compliant with state and federal laws. Mr. Johnson commended the <br /> street department for the preparation work they did for the walking track at Fitzhugh <br /> Pa rk. <br /> E) REVIEW JULY 2010 FINANCIALS <br />
