Councilmember Terrell introduced an ordinance to adopt certain rules of procedures <br /> for the transaction of business of the council for 2007. Councilmember Terrell moved that <br /> the ordinance be read by title only. Councilmember Matthew seconded and the roll call <br /> count was 7 for and 0 against. City Attorney Stalker read the ordinance by title only. <br /> Councilmember Krug moved to suspend the rules for the second and third readings. <br /> Councilmember Matthews seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. <br /> Councilmember Smart moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Matthews <br /> seconded. The roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. The ordinance was given #2007-1- <br /> 1. Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt the emergency clause. Councilmember <br /> Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br /> "CONSIDER SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CLOSE AN UNUSED PORTION OF <br /> A DEDICATED STREET OFF HIGHWAY 167 AND WHITE DRIVE <br /> Property owner Jim Butler and Attorney Steve Bell addressed the council asking to <br /> set a public hearing to close an unused portion of a dedicated street that is located east of <br /> the intersection of Highway 167 and White Drive. The council was provided a copy of the <br /> petition to vacate signed by the owners; Jim and Cindy Butler, J.D. and Cindy Allen and <br /> Jeff and Tammy Angel. Councilmember Krug moved to set the public hearing for the next <br /> scheduled council meeting of January 30th at 5:30 PM. Councilmember Matthews <br /> seconded and all voted for. <br /> "CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR CERTAIN <br /> ITEMS IN 2007 <br /> Councilmember Smart introduced an ordinance to waive the requirements of <br /> competitive bidding during the calendar year of 2007 on the purchases of used equipment, <br /> motor fuel, SB-2, hot mix asphalt, cold mix asphalt, water treatment process chemicals, <br /> property insurance and employee health insurance.
