Councilmember <br /> Matthews moved to suspend the rules for the second and third reading. Councilmember <br /> Terrell seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. Councilmember Terrell <br /> moved to adopt the ordinance and Councilmember Matthews seconded. The roll call <br /> count was 6 for and 1 abstained (Shetron). The ordinance was given #2007-1-2. <br /> Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt the emergency clause. Councilmember <br /> Carpenter seconded and all voted for. <br /> "CONSIDER AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR AN AERIAL <br /> FIRE TRUCK <br /> Councilmember Shetron introduced an ordinance to waive competitive bidding and <br /> authorize the purchase of an aerial platform apparatus for the Batesville Fire Department. <br /> City Attorney Stalker read the ordinance in full. Fire Chief Danny Russell and Assistant <br /> Fire Chief Brent Gleghorn addressed the council and explained that they can save <br /> approximately $100,000.00 by purchasing a Rosenbauer GSE Demo Cobra 104 Aerial <br /> Platform Apparatus. After a short discussion, Councilmember Matthews moved to <br /> suspend the rules for the second and third reading. Councilmember Krug seconded and <br /> the roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt the <br /> ordinance and Councilmember Shetron seconded. The roll call count was 7 for and 0 <br /> against. The ordinance was given #2007-1-3. Councilmember Matthews moved to adopt <br /> the emergency clause and Councilmember Terrell seconded. All voted for. <br /> "PAID BILLS REPORT <br /> The council was given a copy of the paid bills report for December 2006. <br /> COMMENTS FROM DEPARTMENT HEADS <br />
