The roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. <br /> The ordinance was given #99-3-1. <br /> MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> The Mayor said the Code Enforcement Officer has been trying to locate <br /> Mr. William Langston regarding the work he proposed to do on the Landers <br /> Theater. Mr. McClure said Mr. Langston has not started any work on the <br /> property. The Mayor said he will give Mr. Langston until the next council meeting <br /> to inform the council of his intentions for the property. <br /> The Mayor showed the council a video of the incinerator property. The <br /> Mayor said he would like to start removing the boilers, which would take several <br /> months. He said he has shown the boilers to several businesses for removal, <br /> however, no one has made an offer to remove them. With the boilers out, the <br /> building would make a good container roll-off transfer station. Mayor Biard said <br /> the recent rate increase for the garbage tipping fees has made him aware of the <br /> need to consider alternatives for the City's garbage. The Mayor said he would <br /> advertise for bids to have the boilers removed and report to the council at the <br /> April 13th meeting. <br /> LIAISON REPORT <br /> Councilmember Carpenter said the airport has been approved for a <br /> $477,000 grant to overlay the taxiway and the area in front of the hangers. The <br /> airport would need assistance of an additional $35,000 from the City in order to <br /> make the matching part of the grant. Mr. Carpenter said the airport commission <br /> will probably approach the council with a request for additional funds. <br />
