Mr. Larry Jones, Economic Development Director, gave the council a report of the <br /> economic development incentive grants from 2009 to present. He talked briefly <br /> about the progress of the Flowers Bakery project and the opening of Ozark Mtn. <br /> Poultry. <br /> C) SHERIFF'S MONTHLY REPORT <br /> Chief Deputy Alan Cockrill presented the monthly status report for September and <br /> discussed some changes and corrections to their policy after two Metro cars were <br /> damaged last month in accidents. <br /> D) CONSIDER A REQUEST FOR A WATER METER SERVICE AT 160 <br /> BLACKBERRY ROAD <br /> Water Utility Office Manager, Mr. Nick Baxter addressed the council along with <br /> Ms. Katherine Crawford to request a new water service at 160 Blackberry Road. <br /> The service is outside city limits and requires Council approval. Councilmember <br /> Shetron made a motion to grant the new service contingent on receiving a letter <br /> from Ms. Crawford agreeing to the requirements. Councilmember Bryant <br /> seconded and all voted for. <br /> E) MR. BOB CARIUS WITH A MAIN STREET BATESVILLE UPDATE <br /> Mr. Bob Carius addressed the Council with an update on the progress made over <br /> the last 5 weeks with the Main Street Batesville program. He reported that 9 of <br /> the 10 deficiencies have been corrected and the last item, a financial compliance <br /> review, would be corrected before December 31St. He reported that the new <br /> director, Mr. Joel Williams, will begin within the week. Mr. Carius requested the <br /> City appropriate an additional $10,000 for next year's budget. He said Main <br /> Street has applied for a grant for $10,000 to repurpose the current poles located <br /> in downtown Main Street. The poles currently hold flower pots which are hard to <br />
