B) THIRD READING OF AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT APPENDIX G OF THE STATE FIRE CODE <br /> REGARDING SWIMMING POOLS <br /> Councilmember Matthews moved to waive the rules and read the ordinance by title <br /> only. Councilmember Bryant seconded and the roll call count was 7 for and 0 against. Mr. <br /> Stalker read the ordinance by title only. The Mayor opened the floor for discussion. There <br /> being none, Councilmember Bryant made a motion to adopt. Councilmember McDonald <br /> seconded and the roll call was 7 for and 0 against. The ordinance passed and will take <br /> effect in 30 days. The Ordinance was given 2010-9-2. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> A) CONSIDER A RESOLUTION FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR DEVELOPING POLK BAYOU <br /> Councilmember Matthews introduced a resolution authorizing the Mayor to seek <br /> funding to conduct a feasibility study to develop and improve the Polk Bayou area. Mrs. <br /> Crystal Johnson with the Chamber of Commerce addressed the council to ask for their <br /> support and authorize the Mayor to seek a grant from the Arkansas Tourism Attraction <br /> Feasibility Study 50/50 matching grant program to restore and utilize the Polk Bayou area <br /> to assist in tourism. Mrs. Johnson told the council that the City would not be out any <br /> monies. The 50 percent match monies would be raised through private donations. After <br /> some discussions Councilmember Bryant made a motion to adopt the resolution. <br /> Councilmember Matthews seconded and the roll call was 7 for and 0 against. The <br /> Resolution will be given 2010-9-1-R. <br />
